HOW IT STARTED?

After successful outcomes of the Eye Camps in prisons, Dr Rajendra Dhamne, the DIG – Central Prisons Maharashtra, brought to the Foundation’s attention the need of skin care services for the inmates. Skin related ailments were prevalent due to unhygienic conditions and overcrowding of these prisons. The team realised that this was an extension of healthcare activity in prison. A detailed plan was prepared to enlist specialist doctors in all regions. The activity was duly rolled out in 2016 in Mumbai.
