HOW IT STARTED?

Dr Pradip Murambikar, Civil Surgeon at Government Hospital Chandrapur, has been a keen supporter of the Foundation’s eye initiative. In early 2016, he pursued & persuaded Samta Foundation team to look into prison welfare activity through an eye care initiative. The team had many interactions with the authorities and visits to the prisons. On witnessing the neglected state of prisoners due to various factors, the Foundation decided to commence healthcare activity in Maharashtra prisons.
