OUR PURPOSE

Samta Foundation recognizes that there is tremendous need of support in various areas of healthcare in rural area around the world. Although there have been remarkable advances and cost reductions in global eye treatments, India still shoulders the largest burden of global blindness with about 15 million blind people across the country. Every year, about 3 million people develop cataract, resulting in partial or full blindness, out of which 80% of impairment can be avoided or cured. Similarly, although we are in the blessed era of surplus food production, India also has the dubious distinction of having the most under-nourished children and deaths related to malnourishment.

The Foundation has therefore decided to focus on Cataract Surgeries, Family Planning Services and Malnutrition Support in order to address the root causes of these problems.
